Extend Firefox 2 calls for developers and your ideas

Mozilla Labs has announced Extend Firefox2, a contest for developers to create extensions for Firefox 2.

Like the 2005/2006 edition, awards will be given based on the overall experience delivered, creativity, documentation and use of Mozilla Platform components. Top winner gets a trip to a Mozilla Developer Day including transportation and accommodation from anywhere in the participating countries. Twelve runner ups will get a Firefox Ogio messenger bag stuffed with lots of Mozilla goodies, $200 O’Reilly books gift card, and an Active State Komodo license. All entrants will get a limited edition T-shirt (while supplies last).

Sadly, the contest is open for residents of the US, the European Union, Canada and Japan only.

Everyone can also participate suggesting ideas for Firefox extensions that developers could use for inspiration. You will need a Mozilla Wiki account. Then add your idea to to ExtendFirefox page. It’s a great opportunity to shorten that wish list of yours!

  1. When I load Firefox there is a blank spot, about an inch, at the bottom of the screen inbetween the bottom and task bar. How do I clear this blank spot up? I’ve checked all the view settings. Thank you.
