A long time Mozilla tradition is code naming Firefox major releases after national parks from around the world, and, since recently, Thunderbird major releases after beaches.
I noticed a few months ago that there had been no announcement on Firefox 4’s code name, and just today, I found Tumucumaque is the name of choice.
The name is borrowed from the Tumucumaque Mountain National Park, an amazonian park in Northwest Brazil, and home to some unique species.
As with other releases and parks, Mozilla is partnering with the World Wildlife Foundation to raise $25,000 to protect the rainforest park.
