Firefox multitouch support demo

Mozilla intern Felipe Gomes has put up a very nice video showcasing a few demos of what can be done with the new multitouch support coming on Windows 7.

Felipe explains the trick is done with some new program interfaces web developers will be able to use to multitouch enable their web applications. Multitouch devices will also be detectable via CSS media queries so that multitouch interfaces are served for the relevant users.

All of these is targeted for Namoroka (Firefox 3.6), expected later this year.

  1. I hate to see people touching LCD screens. If you press too hard your screen will need to be replaced. I have been told that LCD screens are so expensive you are better off buying a new computer unless you are a technician that knows how to replace it yourself.
